๐ŸŽƒ Spooky Halloween Eclipse Card Tutorial

Live video here

This is one of my favourite techniques — the eclipse style card! It works beautifully with Designer Series Paper (DSP) that has a bold pattern or scene (florals, landscapes, seasonal prints — almost anything!).

✂️ Measurements

  • Base Card: Black – 21 cm x 14.5 cm, score at 10.5 cm
  • Layer 1: Pumpkin Pie – 14 cm x 10 cm
  • DSP Layer: 9 cm x 13 cm (this will be cut into strips)
  • Inside Layer 1: Pumpkin Pie – 14 cm x 10 cm
  • Inside Layer 2: Basic White – 13.9 cm x 9.5 cm

๐Ÿงก Eclipse Technique

  1. Take your DSP (9 cm x 13 cm). Place it at the top of your trimmer (9 cm side up).
  2. Cut into nine 1 cm strips — keep them in order so the pattern lines up correctly.
  3. Adhere strips to Pumpkin Pie layer:
    • First strip: Liquid Glue (flat).
    • Second strip: Foam Adhesive Strip (raised).
    • Alternate glue/foam until all nine strips are adhered. This creates the “eclipse” effect.

๐Ÿฆ‡ Sentiment & Decor

  • Use a banner die (or cut approx. 5 cm x 3.2 cm rectangle). Round corners if you wish.
  • Stamp the word “Spooky” in Memento Black.
  • Use Blending Brushes with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Memento Black to add a glowing, spooky background.
  • Add stamped bats from the Spooky Halloween Stamp Set (or substitute with any Halloween images you have).
  • Attach the sentiment banner to the card front.

๐ŸŽจ Inside the Card

  • Layer Pumpkin Pie (14 cm x 10 cm).
  • Add White cardstock (13.9 cm x 9.5 cm) for writing your messages

๐Ÿ‘ป Tip

Try this technique with different DSP patterns — florals, Christmas papers, or even scenic backgrounds — for completely different looks!

✨ Congratulations, your Eclipse Card is finished! ๐ŸŽ‰

23 /1/24  8am Did you know that only 1% of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators receive the incentive trip and I'm so great full to part of this amazing group.  As soon as i saw this lavender Suite Collection I new it was one of the first set i was going to buy and share with my team and customers. For this card I used the Circle  Stylish shape dies and use the negative to stamp through. I also used our blender brushes  to add the Balmy Blue ink for top and the Lemon Lime Twist for the bottom just very lightly, then using the Painted Lavender Stamp Set I choose the stamp and added the colours Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Orchid Oasis, Lemon Lime Twist and the Gary Granite for the Hello There. I used these cards for my first In home class for 2024 the ladies so enjoyed using this set a little differently.  The second card was done the same way as the first but we used Stylish shape die and we chose a bigger flower stamp and the go to greeting for the Thank you  T...
