✂️ Sour Cream Container Template

 Mini Treat Holders No 2

Here are 5 “gold nugget” ideas you could make in just one extra hour today:

1. A Quick Stack of Cards

Use one sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and cut into panels for 4–5 simple cards.

Add a stamped sentiment and a ribbon or embellishment.

Great way to build up your card stash in an hour!

2. Mini Treat Holders

Create 4–6 sour cream containers, flat pouches, or tiny gift bags.

Perfect for chocolates, teabags, or small trinkets.

They double as gifts for neighbours, teachers, or customers.

3. Memory Keeping Page

Grab a favourite photo and create one 12” x 12” scrapbook layout or a double 6” x 8” pocket page.

Add journaling strips and a few die-cut embellishments.

One hour is plenty to capture a memory beautifully.

4. A Sampler or Home Décor Piece

Make a 9-square sampler (3” x 3” mini designs) on a base cardstock.

Display in a frame or shadow box.

It’s quick, impactful, and makes a wonderful gift.

5. Technique Playtime

Dedicate one hour to trying a single stamping technique (emboss resist, ink blending, watercolour wash, etc.).

You’ll end up with a set of pretty backgrounds ready to turn into cards later

Here’s a step-by-step template for making a sour cream container with Designer Series Paper (DSP) or cardstock. These are quick, fun, and perfect for little treats.

✂️ Sour Cream Container Template

Supplies

DSP or cardstock (lightweight DSP works best)

Strong adhesive (Tear & Tape or liquid glue)

Bone folder

Scissors or paper trimmer

Crimper (optional for the ends)

Small embellishments (tags, ribbon, etc.)

Measurements

Start with a piece of DSP 6” x 4.5” (15.2 cm x 11.5 cm)

👉 You can adjust:

Smaller (4” x 3”) for tiny treats

Larger (6” x 6”) for a bigger container

Instructions

1. Form the Tube

Place the DSP with the long side at the top.

Apply adhesive along one 4.5” side.

Roll into a tube and press the seam closed.

2. Seal the Bottom

Flatten one end of the tube.

Apply adhesive and press firmly.

(Optional: use a crimper for a decorative edge).

3. Fill the Container

Add chocolates, teabags, or small goodies.

4. Seal the Top (Opposite Direction)

Flatten the top end at a 90° angle to the bottom seam (this gives the classic “twist”).

Apply adhesive and seal.

5. Decorate

Punch a hole and add ribbon, or attach a small stamped tag.
